The Best TV Series of 2018
January 15, 2019
2018 may have not been the best year for movies but it was amazing for television.
Even though there were a few movies that left a mark this year like Golden Globe winner The Green Book, A Star is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody it was the year of TV series.
There were many completely new TV series that had a huge success but also some of the most favourite TV series had new seasons.
Based on multiple research here are some of the best ones:
The Haunting of Hill House
Horror TV series finally receives the appreciation it deserves with this show. The Haunting of Hill House is about a family that starts living in a haunted house, which is nothing surprising for a horror movie. However, the way that the story is told and the two timelines the directors have decided to use make the TV series special and different from other basic horror movies.
Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina
Netflix had a huge success with the Riverdale series inspired by comics. That’s why they decided to give a green light to another comic series about Sabrina, the young witch. It is more of a teenage show, but if you enjoy dark stories about the Devil, evil witches, intrigues and a lot of blood and mysteries the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is definitely for you.
My Brilliant Friend
My Brilliant Friend tells the story of a 60 years old friendship between two girls that grow up and get old together in Naples, Italy. Elena Greco tries to understand the mystery around the genius Lila–her best friend but maybe her worst enemy. The TV series is a big HBO and RAI production that is eight episodes in length and the story that it tells is very powerful.
Killing Eve
Killing Eve tells a story about two talented women–one of them in the security sector and the other is a professional killer. Eve wants to become a spy and her work behind the desk is tedious. Vilanel is an elegant killer but is also a psycho. They start following each other.
Homecoming
Julia Roberts is the lead in this Amazon Prime original series and she works in experimental therapy with veterans that suffer from stress. Unexpectedly, the heroine decides to quit her job and after a few years she starts working as a waitress in a little town that no one knows and chooses to live with her mother. When a person from the government finds her and asks her why she left her job she realizes that truth is completely different than the story telling.
Personally, my favourite TV show is Riverdale. It is a 90s shows and mainly teenagers watch it but I enjoy it because of the actors who do an amazing job.
2018 gave us a lot of good TV series and it’s still not late to catch up on them and binge watch them. You won’t regret it. There is something for everyone.
