PINK OUT Football Game to Support Breast Cancer Awareness

PINK OUT Football Game to Support Breast Cancer Awareness

WHO: Students, staff, community wearing “Tackle Cancer” Pink shirts

WHAT: Purchased over 400 shirts to have a pink out at the football game. The show of color will be a visual way to show support. The sales (at time of release) raised over $3,000 for Help for Oncology Problems and Emotional Support (H.O.P.E).

WHEN: October 21 / Game begins at 7 p.m.

WHERE: Kauffman Field at Kennard-Dale High School

WHY: Art teacher Erin Bastian was diagnosed with breast cancer this past summer. She is in the process of undergoing treatment, and therefore will miss most of the current school year. In order to show our support for Bastian during this time, we would like to raise money for H.O.P.E. a local nonprofit organization in Stewartstown that is dedicated to providing high-quality, hands-on and heartfelt assistance and support to cancer patients and their families.

HOW: Art teacher Wade Walton designed the shirt, after the football team came up with the idea as a show of support for Bastian. Shirt sales were available online for purchase, and there will be some available at the game.
