What to do Instead of Being on TikTok

When you are bored and find yourself lying in bed scrolling through Tik Tok, get up and do something interesting with your life. Here are five activities to occupy your mind, but first let’s go over the facts.

If you were asked to go all day without your smartphone, do you think you could do it?

You may be saying to yourself right now, “Hmm, I don’t really see the importance of this article, phones can’t be that bad for us, right?” Well, you are wrong. 

According to Reviews, on average Americans pick up their phone 344 times a day (That is once every four minutes!) 

While being on your phone may be fun, it can also mess with your: cognitive ability, social-emotional skills, sleep, and cause mental laziness.

So this quite literally means you are more stupid when you’re on your phone. Do you want your phone to control you? No, that’s what I thought.

So without further ado, let’s stop scrolling and get a life.

Thrifting

Need a new wardrobe, but you’re broke because of gas prices that are through the roof? Go thrifting, a fun, easy way to add some color to your life.

Complete your childhood bucket list

Now, I am sure at least once in our lives we have attempted to create a bucket list. Some activities may be outrageous but others might be real possibilities now that you’re old enough and probably have some extra cash to put towards them. 

So go make your inner child happy and complete that list.

Go for a walk

Okay, okay. I know this is basic, but a walk is never a bad idea. According to Innerdrive, there are many benefits to going for a walk such as improved happiness, attention and confidence, stress management, and mood boost. 

It helps you refresh and refocus. And guess what, it enhances your cognitive ability (unlike your phone). 

Afraid a simple walk would be boring? Bring a friend, walk your dog, ask your neighbor if you can walk their dog for them. 

Gardening

Stop. Before you even say anything, I know what you’re thinking: “I am not an old lady!”  But, gardening can be very relaxing.
