Crediting Amazing Coaches

Lizzy Price, Reporter

In the world of sports we all love to praise, watch, and pay close attention to the players. But do we ever take a second to show love to the coaches that got them there, the coaches who also are in the gym or on the field everyday with their players making them the players they have become?

We really don’t, so I’m going to introduce you to some of the amazing coaches who I feel are the most notable, and deserve some credit!

Kimberly Duane Mulkey is an American college basketball player and coach. She is the head coach for Louisiana State University’s women’s basketball team.

Not only did she receive incredible scholarships as a player, but as coach she has won two awards for coach of the year.

She has been praised on TikTok for her energy and fire attitude on the sidelines and will go down as one of the best in the books.

Robert Montgomery Knight is an American former basketball coach.

Nicknamed “the General”, Knight won 902 NCAA Division I men’s college basketball games, a record at the time of his retirement, and currently fifth all-time.

Knight is best known as the head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers from 1971 to 2000.

Thomas Wade Landry was an American professional football player and coach.

Regarded as one of the greatest head coaches of all time, he was the first head coach of the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League, a position he held for 29 seasons.

Landry won two Super Bowl titles, 13 Divisional titles, and played in 12 Championship games.

Perhaps most impressive is Landry’s 20 consecutive winning seasons — a record that stands to this day.

Pretty Impressive right? There are so many more coaches just like this that really do deserve all the credit they can get. They walk so their players can run!
