Interesting Sports you’ve gotta see!

Sports are a huge part of our world, and you’d think you know them all because they’re everywhere, right? Well, there are a lot of crazy sports that I bet you have never heard of!

Have you ever heard of chess boxing? Chess Boxing is the game of chess that requires patience, strategy, and skill, but it also adds the physical elements of boxing at the same time.

Participants win by way of either the chess game or knocking their opponent out.

Of course the boxing element is done in a boxing ring, but the chess game is, as well. Participants sit at a table in the center of the ring and play blitz chess.

There are 11 alternating rounds where opponents begin by playing chess, then have a boxing match, repeat.

If you’re afraid of heights I wouldn’t recommend this next crazy sport, Cliff Tenting!

If you like the idea of not only climbing up a steep mountain but also sleeping in a tent that’s literally hanging by an anchor that climbers nailed into the side of that mountain, this one might be for you!

These sports a bit too bizarre? Here’s one that is a little less strange. Ice boating;  it’s the exact same concept as regular sailing but done on ice. With a frozen lake, a boat uses metal runners on the bottom, much like a pair of ice skates.

These boats can reach speeds of up to 60 miles per hour (mph).

While some of these sports stem from the main sports we all know, in order to make them more unique they switch up the atmosphere of the game like underwater hockey!

Two teams of six battle it out on the bottom of a pool, using snorkels and mini sticks. This game is also called Octopush.

This next sport might be a little difficult to wrap your head around. Swamp football or soccer as we say, is basically soccer played in a bog.

Each team has six players on the field at a time.

According to Wikipedia, the sport began in Finland as an exercise for athletes and soldiers but has grown in popularity. In fact, there are 300 known teams around the world.

These are just some of the crazy sports out there, but a quick search online will reveal  many more!
