The Kennard-Dale art show took place on Apr. 17 2026, giving students a chance to show off their artistic talent and hard work. This was hosted by the art department and was held in the lobby and media center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday. This event included paintings, drawings, sculptures, and other projects made by art students throughout the year.
Erin Bastian, one of the three art teachers here at KD, has explained the inspiration for the school’s yearly art show. Bastian says, “Every year we hold a display of artwork that students have made throughout the school, showcasing not only young student artists but also local artists and small vendors to show awareness to the art world.”
Bastian describes how each art piece is carefully selected by one of the three art teachers here at KD. They each choose exceptional art pieces that demonstrate hard work and dedication to the project. Each piece selected to be in the art show showcases the artist’s different styles, techniques and creativity used to complete the piece.
Madison Kidd, a talented Art I student who had three pieces featured in the art show, was interviewed. Kidd is looking forward to seeing all the different kinds of artworks that are going to be displayed at this year’s art show, including her own pieces, and believes KD is filled with talented artists. She believes that the show is a great way for students to be recognized.
In addition to viewing artwork, there were vendors from local artists selling some pieces and guests were able to ask questions and chat with them about their artwork.
The Kennard-Dale Art Show was not only a chance for students to display their artwork, but also an opportunity for the community to come together and support these young artists and local vendors. Everyone was encouraged to attend this event and explore the students’ and local artists’ creativity throughout the night. These events encourage the young artists at KD to continue making art and doing what they love. Overall, the event on Friday Apr. 17 2026, supported aspiring young artists at KD for the night!
