Spring sports for Kennard-Dale High School started on March 2 2026 this school year. With this new start, we are able to see how our sports teams have been improving since last year. One of these sports is Lacrosse, a contact team sport that’s played with a lacrosse stick and lacrosse ball.
I have spoken with a player on the team to see what she thinks of their progress so far. Jessica Cate is a
varsity lacrosse player for Kennard-Dale High School. She has been playing lacrosse for 12 years.
The record for the team is looking good so far with a 2-0 record. The future for the team is looking very bright but how is the team able to succeed in all these wins?
“What helps your teams to win?”- Janelle Smith
“Our team’s chemistry is what keeps us on top”- Jessica Cate.
Sportsmanship is the most important thing when it comes to any sport or game in general. Everyone on the Lacrosse team gets along well, allowing them to succeed.
Although Lacrosse is a team sport, it’s also important to focus on locking in on your own. Everyone has their own things they like to do to prepare for a big game and calm them down.
“What do you do to lock in for a game?”- Janelle Smith
“Listening to music with my team gets us hype and ready for the day”- Jessica Cate
Her team seems to be one of the most important parts of the sport, as expressed “I really like all my teams, they all treat me very well, and I’m excited for what this season is gonna bring”- Jessica cate.
This season is just starting and we already have high hopes for their future games, beating the most recent teams by a huge margin. This team does well working together in order to win and they do in fact get the job done.
“If you could say anything to the students of Kennard-Dale right now what would you say?”- Janelle Smith
“Kennard-Dale Girls Lacrosse is open for anyone to play, come play next year!”- Jessica Cate
The team is very welcoming and is amusing to watch play, go check out one of their games this season and support them to a win!
